The Maldives by Season

The Maldives is a tropical destination that can be visited throughout the year, but the best time to travel is generally from December to April. During these months, visitors can expect warm temperatures, low humidity, and plenty of sunshine, making it ideal for relaxing on pristine beaches, snorkelling in crystal-clear waters, and enjoying luxury island resorts. From May to November, the islands experience the south-west monsoon season, bringing occasional rain and stronger winds. Although this period is wetter, it also offers lower accommodation prices, fewer tourists, and excellent opportunities to see marine wildlife such as manta rays and whale sharks. Whether you visit during the dry or wet season, the Maldives offers spectacular scenery, turquoise lagoons, and unforgettable tropical experiences.

The Peloponnese: Five Stops on the Trail of Ancient Greece

The Peloponnese is the large peninsula that forms the southern tip of mainland Greece, joined to the rest of the country by a narrow strip of land at Corinth and, since 1893, cut through by a deep canal. For most visitors flying into Athens, it sits just two to three hours away by road, yet it feels a world apart from the crowds of the capital and the party islands. This is a land of olive groves, empty coastal roads, walled towns, and some of the oldest ruins in Europe. The myths of Agamemnon, Helen, and Hercules were set here, and much of the stone behind those stories is still standing.
