Nice roundup of Croatia's highlights. The breadth here is useful, especially the mix of well-known spots like Dubrovnik with lesser-traveled places like Ružica Grad. I spent a week in Istria a couple years back and found that balance between history and landscape hard to match anywhere else in Europe. One thing I'd add is that Croatia's shoulder seasons (May/early June, September) offer way better value and thinner crowds without sacrificing much weather. The Istrian hilltowns especailly feel more authentic when they're not overrun with tour groups.
