Best Time to Visit Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends on which areas of the island you want to explore. The south, west and central regions are generally at their best from December to March, when the weather is drier and sunnier. If you’re planning to visit the north or east, May to August can be a better choice, with warmer conditions and less rain. By considering the different seasonal patterns across the island, you can plan your trip around the places and activities you’re most interested in.

Norway’s Western Fjords

Western Norway sits along the country’s Atlantic edge, where a coastline of islands, inlets, and long sea-arms reaches far inland between high mountains. These sea-arms are the fjords: deep channels carved by glaciers over many thousands of years, then filled by the sea when the ice retreated. The result is a landscape of steep rock walls, waterfalls, and small farms set on narrow shelves of green. This is one of the clearest examples anywhere of how ice shapes a country, and it has drawn travellers for well over a century.

The Slow Route through Transylvania
