Solid curation. The Flåm Railway point about descending valleys is understated because the engineering behind that gradient is wild. I did a similiar route in the Dolomites last year and the way these older rail systems navigate terrain without modern tech is pretty impressive. The Semmering Railway crosssing 16 viaducts feels like the kind of infrastructure project that would get endless environmental reviews today.
